Gina Adorno,
Licensed Professional Counselor
My role as a therapist is to help you get where you want to go — whether that means shifting perspective, building new habits, making sense of the past, or learning skills that help you feel more like yourself.
Ultimately, I want to help you live the life you want.
I trust you with your own healthcare. I will respect you and be honest with you. Seeking out therapy shows that you are already invested in your own mental health, and I'm here to support you on your path.

What do I treat?
Our time together will allow for the full nuance and complexity of who you are. We each hold many parts, and growth requires honoring and integrating all their complexities. While we will not be limited to single issues or treatments in our time together, I’ve listed a few of my specialties.
-
Mental Health Treatment.
Issues I work with most often:
Depression
Anxiety
Trauma
Addiction
ADHD - evaluation, support
Autism - evaluation, identity development
Complexities of giftedness/high IQ
Adjusting to significant life changes, such as divorce and career -
Autism and ADHD Evaluations
I provide neurodivergence-affirming autism and ADHD evaluations for adults. More information can be found here.
-
Addiction/Recovery.
I work with people looking to change to their relationship to substances. I provide a nonjudgmental space for you to clarify your goals and support you in reaching them. I can help with abstinence or moderation goals, if appropriate. If you don’t know what you want yet or if you are even ready to make a change, we’re good. We’ll talk it through, step by step, and get you where you want to go.
-
Autism/Aspergers.
Being autistic is no list of deficits. It is a neurotype that comes with gifts and challenges in a world that often prioritizes adherence to neurotypical norms (NT folks can be so inflexible!). I can work provide you with an evaluation, work with you on developing your autistic identity and reducing masking, and collaborate with you on any concerns related to autistic traits such as meeting sensory needs, or differences in communication styles inhibiting connection with others. I also provide treatment for mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, trauma, or addictions with a neurodivergence-affirming approach.

Compulsive eating.
Food is fun, nourishing, comforting, and pleasurable. However, if eating amounts of food that make you feel uncomfortable and unwell gets caught up in a cycle of dependence, it can ruin the joy of it. If you have also experienced the traumatic effects of fat stigma, you may need support reconnecting with your body and yourself. I love supporting people with compulsive eating concerns from an intuitive eating, structured as helpful, self-respect-first perspective. Let’s get things feeling good + balanced for you and food.
I have an integrated treatment approach that draws from a broad range of influences. We do not have to adhere to one single modality. Rather, we will go where you and your care directs. Clinical terms for some of the theories I draw from the most are:
Strengths-based
Trauma-informed
Person-centered
Motivational interviewing
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
Internal family systems (IFS)
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)
EMDR
It’s lovely to meet you.
Hi, I’m Gina (she/her). I love what I do. My style is warm and supportive, flowing between focused emotional support and playful levity as needed.
I am respectful, supportive of your autonomy and well-being, and can help you process events that may be holding you back from being fully in your life, or support you in making changes that you suspect could help you, but you haven’t been able to quite get there on your own.
My first career was in singing opera and teaching music. When I taught vocal technique, I was always listening for that beautiful natural sound that each person has within them, and worked with them to identify and release the tensions that prevented its fullest expression. We practiced exercises to allow each part of their instrument to come forward, for the voice to have the support it needed, and the sound to reach its fullest potential. Working with me as a therapist is working towards the most natural, full, and powerful expression of yourself.
The work we do together takes your whole context into account - your social locations, cultural background, and your perspective on how they influence you. I am a LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC ally. Sex positive, adamantly gender affirming, kink & poly friendly.
